A local science teacher is a finalist for a Presidential Award.
Cody high school science teacher Cris Williams is among six Wyoming teachers being considered for the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching. This is the highest recognition K-12 teachers in these subjects can receive in the country, jointly awarded by the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy and the National Science Foundation. 108 teachers are awarded each year.
Williams way forward is arduous and thorough. It starts with a rigorous peer review process, once the application is forwarded to the National Science Foundation. The final selection follows soon after.
Regardless of the outcome, this is a tremendous honor for an exceptional local teacher, and all of Cody supports and thanks Cris Williams for teaching our kids so well.
