Cody Cubs to Play Games in Five of the Next Seven Days

It’s going to be a busy week for the Cody Cubs as they will be playing baseball in five of the next seven days, beginning tonight. The Cubs enter the week 20-12 on the season and tonight, the cubs welcome in the World Baseball Showcase Team, that they played last year.

According to their Facebook page “World Baseball Showcases provides international baseball development through competitive games and once in a lifetime experiences.”

Their page goes on to say “World Baseball Showcases provides the opportunity for international baseball players to develop and pursue their dream of playing college or professional baseball. Our trips consist of a competitive schedule of games nearly every day as well as once in a lifetime experiences experiences along the way. The players are coached by an elite coaching staff with ties to college and professional baseball.”

And for a little more insight into this World Baseball Showcase team, last year, I caught up with Cubs Assistant Andy Schroeder who gave some background.

Then on Tuesday, June 21^st, the Cubs will make the 50 mile trek to Cowley, Wy., to go up against conference, foe, Lovell for the second time this season. The Cubs defeated Lovell June 1^st to open conference play 2-0.

On the docket for the rest of the week…. This weekend, the Cubs will host the Lions Wood Bat Tournament. Schedule of events below:
