The Cody Cubs were back home for the the first time in over a month, Tuesday night, as they played host to the Lovell Mustangs for conference double header.
The Cubs would win game 1 by a final of 10-1 and 10-run ruled Lovell in game 2, by a final of 14-2 in 5 innings.

Starting off with a look at game 1.
Trey Thomasson took to the hill and picked up his1st win of the season in arguably is best performance on the mound, so far. He tossed 4.1 innings, gave up 1 run on 1 hit and struck out 3.
Thomasson was just as good at the plate going 3-5 with 2 RBI’s and a run scored.
The Cubs got on the board first as Thomasson would score on a passed ball in the bottom of the 1st and added 2 more in the 2nd to take a 3-0 after 2 innings of play.
After Lovell scored 1 in the 3rd Cody answered in a big way with a 4-run 3rd and tacked on 3 more in the 5th to extend the lead and put the game out of reach.
Cody collected 9 hits in game 1.
In game 2:
Trey Schroeder would get the start and was not to be outdone. He too, picked up the win, his 4th of the season, which leads the team. He went 3.2 innings pitched, struck out 8 while allowing 6 hits and 2 runs, 1 earned.
The 2nd game was all about capitalizing on Lovell miscues. Of the 14 runs Cody scored, only 4 wee earned.
At the plate, Schroeder went 2-4 with 4RBI and a run scored.
Thomasson collected 2 more hits, both doubles, had 4 RBI’s and scored twice in the nightcap.
The Cubs struck first in this one as well, scoring 6 runs through the first 2 innings. Lovell added a pair in the top of the 3rd but Cody answered right back scoring 8 runs across innings 3 and 4.
Cody ended the game after 5 due to the 10-run rule being in effect.
Following the Tuesday night sweep, the Cubs are now 11-12 on the season, 4-0 in conference play.
They sit atop the Northwest A Standings and have won 7 of their last 9 games.
Up Next: Cody Cubs Baseball will be in Three Forks, Montana for the 24th Annual GVO Tournament. Cody will play 5 games in 3 days beginning Friday.
