The Cody Cubs American Legion Baseball team was back in action over the weekend as they took part in the Jackson Tournament.
The Cubs would only manage to win 1 of the total 4 games they played.
Their lone victory was a 17-3 route of the Rock Springs Stallions.
Saturday’s Game 1: 17-3 win vs. Rock Springs.
Trey Schroeder picked up his first win of the season. He tossed 2 innings of 4 hit ball and struck out 1.
Schroeder and William Duke each tallied 3 hits in the game, to lead the way, while Dominic Phillips hit his 3rd Home Run of the season.
Saturday’s Game 2: 6-0 loss vs. Gallatin Valley, Mont.
Ben Reinker took to the hill and tossed a great game. Went 4.2 innings, game up 8 hits, 5 runs (3 earned) and struck out 3.
Cubs tallied just 5 hits in the game.
Sunday’s Game 1: 3-1 loss vs. Gallatin Valley.
This was a pitchers duel. William Duke got the start and tallied 4 innings of 5 hit ball. He gave up 1 run, it was un-earned, and struck out 1.
GVO scored 2-runs in the bottom of the 6th to claim victory.
Sunday’s Game 2: 14-12 loss vs. Jackson.
An early edition for game of the year.
Back and forth contest.
Jackson would win it on a walk off home run in the bottom of the 7th.
Dominic Phillips tallied 3 hits while Miles Bailey and Ben Reinker each had a pair.
Cody has lost 6 of their last 8 games.
They stand at 4-8 overall on the season.
Up Next: The Cubs will travel travel up to Miles City, Mont. They’ll play a double header on both Saturday and Sunday May 20th and 21st.
