Cody depends on locals for summer success, and now the Cody Chamber of Commerce is asking for local support to make a big blast this Independence Day.
Summer has officially come to Wyoming. With Yellowstone’s East Gate open for business, tourists are flocking into Cody looking for additions to their western vacations.
Meanwhile, preparations have already begun for one of Cody’s busiest weekends – the 4th of July.
The Cody Stampede Rodeo is all set to go, with Xtreme Bulls scheduled for Wednesday, June 30, and tickets available for the special events on July 1 – 4. Tickets for all these events can be purchased online.
Meanwhile, the Cody Stampede Parade Board is accepting submissions for the Kiddies’ Parade on July 2 and its 4th of July parades on July 3 & 4. The theme for this year’s parade is “Cody Legends and Unsung Heroes,” so no Buffalo Bills this year.
But the newest call is for the loudest noise – the Cody Chamber of Commerce is once again asking for donations for its annual 4th of July fireworks show.
As always, the annual fireworks display will begin at dusk on July 4. The staging location will be the usual spot – across the Shoshone River in the hills just north of the Rodeo Grounds.
But the grandeur of the evening’s show depends on the generosity of the Cody community.
Historically, the Cody Chamber of Commerce has overseen purchasing the ordinance and staging the show. And once again, they’re asking for donations to make the show as impressive as years past.
On Saturday, May 22, the Chamber put out a public call for donations for this year’s fireworks display.
Since 2018, the Cody Country Chamber of Commerce has made our annual 4th of July Fireworks display possible through the generous donations of our community members to the Cody Commerce Foundation! Help us keep this festive tradition alive for Cody Country residents and its visitors by donating at codychamber.org and learn more on our Events Calendar.
Donation amounts range from $20 to $100, although checks for larger amounts will also be accepted. And all donations to the chamber are tax-deductible.
The Cody Chamber of Commerce has set up a website for online donations up to $100. The links are available on the Chamber of Commerce website, although a profile on the website is required.
