As of Monday, April 3, the Yankee Car Wash on Yellowstone Avenue in Cody is closed for an eight-week remodel. It will reopen as the latest location for the widespread western company Rocky Mountain Car Wash.
According to the company website, Mike and Sherri Irwin started Rocky Mountain Car Wash in 2001, with their first location in Pinedale. The company currently owns and operates 14 car washes in ten Wyoming communities, including Cody and the Self Serve Car Wash on Cedarwood Drive in Powell.
Rocky Mountain Car Wash purchased both Yankee Car Washes in Cody in June 2022. The Yellowstone Avenue and Big Horn Avenue locations have operated normally since the purchase.
The eight-week remodel on Yellowstone Avenue will include new paint and aesthetic updates as part of the Rocky Mountain Car Wash rebranding, new equipment for both Touch Free automatic bays and all three self-serve bays, and several free vacuums.
The Bighorn Avenue location will also be closed and remodeled. However, a timeline for the project is “still under consideration” at this time.
“Rocky Mountain Car Wash uses the best equipment in the industry that includes the latest technology in car washing,” the company’s remodel announcement reads. “Every vehicle that enters the bay receives a 3D profile scan, ensuring every vehicle receives a personalized wash!”
The Yellowstone Ave location will continue to offer Monthly Memberships and will have an added feature to accept Fleet Accounts after the remote. Current Monthly Members at the Yellowstone Avenue location can still use their membership at the Yankee location on Bighorn Avenue until the remodel is finished.
Furthermore, Rocky Mountain Car Wash offers a yearly scholarship to graduating seniors in the communities they serve. In the future, one graduating senior in Cody can receive a $500 scholarship for college and higher education expenses.
Rocky Mountain Car Wash will announce the reopening of the Yellowstone Avenue location soon.
