The Cody Alpine ski teams were back in action over the weekend for one final meet prior to the State Championship. Both Alpine Ski teams would come in second place over the weekend in Casper.
Both Jackson teams would come away with first place team finishes.
The highlight event was the slalom races for both the Broncs and Fillies as the Fillies would best the competition winning the slalom event by one point over Jackson with the Bronc finishing three points behind Jackson in that event.
The Fillies had three skiers place in the top 10 in the slalom race with Aspen Kalkowski leading the way placing 6th individually. Catherine Lovera came in 7th with Nicole Wagler 10th.
For the Broncs, in Friday’s slalom, it was Sterling Banks finishing 4th with David Reed, Logan Ross and Jasper Crofts finishing 7th-9th in that order.
Following the day of competi;tion Head Coach Rick Stonehouse said “Logan Ross stepping up on varsity and Sterling Banks back in it to name a couple, but awesome performances all around!”
As for Thursday’s Giant Slalom race, it was Nicole Wagler and Aspen Kalkowski leading the way for the Fillies finishing 9th and 10th, respectively.
For the Broncs, Sterling Banks led the way in the Giant Slalom finishing in 4th place while Maddox Growney finished 9th.
Both Alpine Ski teams will be back in action Friday and Saturday, March 5th and 6th when they travel to Jackson Hole for the State Championship meets.
Following their cancelations over the weekend, the Cody basketball teams will be back in action tonight to close out regular season play as they host Riverton for Senior night. Girls at 5:30, boys at 7pm on KODI.
