Classes 1A and 2A will get their respective Regional tournaments underway this weekend. Normally, the Regional Tournaments are a double elimination bracket. Things are a little different this year due to COVID and each regional will pair quad foes against one another. You win, you advance to state. You lose your first game, season is over. Taking a look at area teams in action this weekend.
All these games get underway Thursday February 25th:
On the girls side in Meeteetse for 1A, the Lady Longhorns No. 2 takes on No. 3 Ten Sleep at 4pm, while Burlington faces Dubois at 1pm.
On the girls side in 2A, it’s No. 1 Rocky Mountain vs. No. 4 Greybull at 2:30pm while No. 2 Shoshoni takes on No. 3 Riverside at 4:30pm. Those games are at Rocky Mountain.
On the boys side in Class 1A, it’s No. 1 Dubois vs. No. 4 Ten Sleep at 1pm while No 2 Burlingtong faces No. 3 Meeteetse at 4pm in Burlington.
In 2A on the boys side, It’s No. 1 Rocky Mountain vs. No. 4 Riverside at 2:30pm while No. 2 Shoshoni takes on No. 3 Greybull at 4:30pm. All those games will be in Greybull.
Again winner of each of those games advance to State and continues through the Regional tournament to determine seeding for state, loser has their season ended. If you win you will then be matched up with the other winner from your quad, win that game you play in the regional tournament game to determine if you are the No. 1 or No. 2 seed for state. Lose that second game you will play in a game to determine seeding for the No. 3 and No. 4 state spot.
