Christine Bekes Resigns from Powell Economic Partnership

After a long and successful tenure, Christine Bekes is moving on to new opportunities.

The six-year leader of the Powell Economic Partnership announced she is resigning as the executive director and relocating to Reno, Nevada. She says this was a difficult decision and largely personal, so she can be closer to family. But her support for Powell is stronger than ever, and she can look back on six years not just of the PEP’s achievements, but actually helping the organization find its legs and start running. She was the first CEO of the Partnership and shepherded it through its beginning and its merger with the Powell Chamber of Commerce.

Bekes has a parting message for Powell, and for her eventual successor: continue to trust and support your elected officials and the Powell Economic Partnership. Despite the uncertainty future of Wyoming’s future, Powell’s is looking bright and exciting, including the upcoming hotel and convention center.

Bekes will be back for that – its too tempting to miss. But for now, its on to new pastures.
