Former U.S. Representative Liz Cheney (R-WY) is responding to former President Donald Trump after he boosted a post on social media calling for her “televised military tribunal” for treason, according to USA Today.
Cheney, a longtime critic of Trump, responded his repost by posting on X, formerly Twitter, “Donald – This is the type of thing that demonstrates yet again that you are not a stable adult—and are not fit for office.”
Cheney served as vice chair of the House Jan. 6 committee and was one of 10 House Republicans who voted to impeach Trump after the 2021 attack on the U.S. Capitol.
These posts came a day before the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that Trump is immune from criminal prosecution for “official” acts he performed while president, which could impact the outcome of his election subversion case.
Trump also reposted a post calling for the imprisonment of Democratic and Republican party leaders, including President Joe Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell and former Vice President Mike Pence.
