Celebrate New Year’s Eve at the Irma & Sleeping Giant

Happy New Year

Celebrate New Year’s Eve – and the end of 2020 — with old and new traditions.

The end of 2020 is an occasion worth celebrating for many. While Cody’s bars and restaurants will still close at 10 p.m. as per the state’s public health order, there are two places where you can still (safely) celebrate – the Irma Hotel and Sleeping Giant Ski Area.

Continuing their annual tradition, the Irma will be hosting its Ball Drop as normal. You can watch the ball and share in the traditional toast from the street or the iconic front porch – and the event is free for all to attend.

The Irma’s legendary prime rib dinner will also be available that evening before the New Year’s Eve festivities.

Sleeping Giant is planning to send 2020 off a bit more ornately . . .

From 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., its regular operation – skiing, riding, lessons, tubing, and the new Grab n’ Go option for meals.

And then there are the evening’s festivities . . .

Shawn Mickelson and his quartet are playing fireside during an outdoor event with limited lodge time, fireside prime rib, and drinks available. The schedule of events is:

  • 4 pm – 8 pm night skiing (an extra hour!)
  • 5 pm – 9 pm – appetizers, dinner, drinks, live Jazz by the fire, photobooth, and skiing continues
  • 9:30-9:45 – Champagne and dessert pick-up
  • 10 pm – ball drop and toast

Tickets are $130 for adults, $55 for kids 6-12, and $90 for the party, dinner, and two drink vouchers. Dressing up is encouraged but not required, and the shuttle will be available if you need a ride home after the 10 pm ball drop.

Two New Years’ Eve celebrations for Cody to see 2020 enter the history books – nothing wrong with that!
