The Broncs scored 6 touchdowns of over 20 yards against Riverton Friday, 22, 21, 70, 52, 74, and 21.
1-0 Cody traveled to Riverton Friday night to face the 0-1 Riverton Wolverines at Wolverine Field.
The first quarter was somewhat quiet with each team having 3 possessions, The Broncs were able to score on their second drive with a 21-yard touchdown run by AJ Baustert.
It wasn’t until midway through the 2nd quarter that the Broncs added another touchdown with a 70-yard run by Grady McCarten Cody going up 14-0.
Just over 4 minutes later Cody would add a 3rd touchdown from Connor Moss with an 8-yard touchdown run, the Broncs up 21-0.
Riverton scored the first touchdown of the season against Cody with a 5-play 79-yard drive with 1:10 left to go in the first half.
With 1:01 remaining in the first half and Cody having the ball on their own 10-yard line the Broncs would march the length of the field on a 6-play drive resulting in a 22-yard reception by Chase Hatch from Maddux Ball for a touchdown, Cody leading 28-7 at the half.
The Broncs would get the ball first in the second half with a shallow kick from Riverton Cody began the drive on their own 42-yard line.
The first play was a 6-yard run, the second play was a 52-yard touchdown run from McCarten scoring his second TD of the game, also his second of over 50 yards.
In a four-play drive beginning on the Broncs’ 7-yard line, AJ Baustert would take off like a jet and land on the runway 74 yards later for the Broncs’ 6th touchdown of the game.
At the 2:52 mark of the 3rd quarter Cody would score again off an Owen Peterson run from 21 yards out making the score 49-7.
After an interception by the Broncs in the 4th quarter Cody fumbled on the 3-yard line Offensive Guard Zach Barton scooped it up and hit paydirt giving the Broncs their 8th touchdown of the game.
The Final score from Riverton was 56-7.
Cody will head to Worland on Friday and take on the Warriors.
Worland lost to Powell Friday 51-0.
