Blue Cross Blue Shield is doing its part to ease the fears of its members – both medical and financial.
The health insurance provider wants everyone one of its members to receive the medical attention they need, especially with the COVID-19 pandemic growing in the state. To accomplish this, they have announced a waiver to all members’ coinsurance, co-payments and deductibles for COVID-19 medical treatments, from now through June 30. This move will not only ease the financial burden on patients, but remove the administrative requirements medical providers must go through.
In addition to this expanded coverage, BCBSWY has taken the following steps to assist their members and providers through this unprecedented time:
- Waived cost sharing for COVID-19 testing and related services including office visits, urgent care or emergency department
- Waived 30-day refill limits for prescription medication
- Expanded telemedicine to include phone, video and other means and waived member cost-share for those services, whether related to COVID-19 or not.
Blue Cross Build Shield Wyoming has set up a COVID-19 website all about their new coverage and other virus-related changes. Visit BCBSWY.com/covid19/ to learn more.
