Black Hills Energy Raising Rates Statewide

You might expect a change in your gas bill next year.

Black Hills Energy has received approval to consolidate their base rates and tariffs and implement a general rate increase. This is the result of the consolidation of their four natural gas utilities across Wyoming. This has led to $150 million dollars of investment in 6,000 miles of pipelines in Douglas, Laramie, and Casper. These investments have led to increase capacity and security, which merits the rate increase.

For residences in Northwest Wyoming, there’s no need to panic. The anticipated monthly change is only about a dollar a month. Small and medium general service areas can expect a monthly increase around $10 to $30 dollars – easily the lowest rate increases in the state.

The rate increase is expected to be put into effect on March 1st, 2020. You can check out a full list of the anticipated rate changes for the entire state here: https://www.blackhillsenergy.com/billing-and-payments/rates-and-regulatory-information/wyoming-regulatory-rate-review
