Area Athletes Show Out at Worland D&D Track Meet

On Thursday, Worland played host to their D&D Meet, marking one of the first Track meets to be in action this Spring.

The Meet hosted more than 30 teams to compete for the first time this spring.

This meet came about after the Kelly Walsh Invite was canceled due to snow.

Many area teams/athletes were in action Thursday, putting their skills on display.

Let’s take a look at some top performers, focusing on Top 5 finishes.

First on the girls side:

Powell’s Waycee Harvey was 4^th in the 100.

Riverside’s Vaidyn Vanderploeg was 2^nd in the 200.

Powell’s Waycee Harvey and Anna Bartholomew went 3-4 in the 400.

Lovell’s Amee Newmann was 2^nd in the 800.

Powell’s Kinley Cooley was 2^nd in the 3200.

Jayci Basse of Thermopolis was 3^rd in the 300 hurdles while Powell’s Lauryn Bennett was 4^th.

Powell’s 4×100 Relay Team was 4^th. Their 4×400 and 4×800 Teams were 1^st.

Powell’s Addy Thorington was 2^nd in the High Jump.

Powell’s Waycee Harvey was 5^th in the Long Jump.

Ina King of Thermopolis was 2^nd in the Triple Jump while Powell’s Catelynn Floy was 4^th.

Lovell’s Kallie Owens was 5^th in the Shot Put.

Riverside’s Jaylah Griffith was 2^nd in the Discuss.

Now, moving over to the Boys side and looking at top 5 performers:

Burlington’s Clayton Edwards was 4^th in the 100.

Powell’s Daniel Merritt was 1^st in the 800 and 4^th in the 1600.

Burlington’s Howard McNiven was 3^rd in the 3200.

Powell’s Simon Shoopman was 5^th in the 300 Hurdles.

Lovell’s 4×100 Relay Team took 4^th while Powell was 5^th.

Powell’s 4×400 Relay was 5^th.

Riverside’s 4×800 Team was 5^th.

The 1600 Sprint Medley Team from Thermopolis was 4^th.

Burlington’s Clayton Edwards was 1^st in the High Jump with Powell’s Isaiah Woyack 2^nd.

Powell’s Jeremy Harms was 5^th in the Pole Vault.

Powell’s Cody Seifert was 1^st in the Long Jump. Greybull’s Cole Bolzer was 2^nd. Lovell’s Gavin Robertson was 4^th.

Cody Seifert also took 1^st in the Triple Jump.
