There are now ways to “self-screen” for COVID-19 at home – and Park County’s healthcare providers want you to use them.
The CDC has worked with Apple to create a self-screening tool for home evaluation several factors that may or may not indicate a coronavirus infection. The survey is a basic rundown of your history with possible COVID-19 exposure. This doesn’t just include any symptoms you may or may not be experiencing, but also any recent travels, the prevalence of the virus in your area, and if you’ve had any exposure with infected persons. At the end, you get a recommendation of what steps you should take, either to get tested or stay at home.
This particular test has received the endorsement of Park County Health Officer Aaron Billin, who has been leading the charge when it comes to Park County’s response to the virus. He hopes these tests can help lower the volume of coronavirus concerns, both in hospitals and over the phone. This will ensure all the necessary time and resources go towards confirmed cases. This particular site has the right amount of legitimacy and in-depth questioning to make it a very reliable “first step” in diagnosis and treatment.
