  • Two older adult Big Horn County women died late last month. Both were hospitalized in states outside Wyoming. One woman had health conditions that placed her at a higher COVID risk, while it was unclear if the other woman had any such conditions.
  • An older adult Park County man died sometime in November. He was hospitalized at the time of his death, but it was unclear whether he had health conditions recognized as putting patients at higher risk of serious illness related to COVID-19.
  • An older adult Washakie County man and woman died late last month. Both were hospitalized and residents of a local long-term care facility. It was unclear if either person had the kinds of health conditions and worsen the virus’s effects.

Wyoming reported 128 COVID-19 deaths in November. It’s the highest number of state deaths reported in a single month since the pandemic began in March.

This increase in COVID-19 mortality has led to a new series of amendments from Governor Mark Gordon and State Health Officer Alexia Harrist, includingWyoming’s first statewise mask mandate.

As of Monday, there are 33 confirmed COVID-19 fatalities in the Bighorn Basin – 15 in Big Horn County, 10 in Washakie County, 7 in Park County, and 1 in Hot Springs County.
