Two Park County residents were found dead in their home – and detectives are trying to figure out what happened.
On Saturday, Dec. 26, the Cody Police Department conducted a welfare check to a home in the 2300 block of Sheridan Avenue at the request of a caller. That caller said one of the home’s residents, who was a coworker, hadn’t shown up for work and wasn’t answering repeated phone calls.
When the officers entered the home, they discovered a tragic scene: two 61-year-old twin brothers, dead in their home.
As of Monday, their names have not been released.
There is now an active investigation into what happened to the brothers. Unfortunately, there isn’t much information and no concrete leads.
Portable Air Quality Monitors showed there was nothing wrong with the air in the home, as they detected no traces of carbon monoxide or other combustible gases. A preliminary investigation showed no signs of foul play or any other suspicious activity.
The only possible suspect? COVID-19. One of the brothers tested positive for the virus “recently,” but at this point, there is no definitive evidence that COVID-19 contributed to the deaths.
No other information is available at this time.
