UW Opts for In-Person Graduation

The University of Wyoming has changed course and will conduct in-person commencement ceremonies in May.

As many as four shortened, in-person ceremonies are being planned for Friday and Saturday, May 14-15,  in the Arena-Auditorium.

Each graduate will be allowed a limited number of guest tickets, according to the UW website. Face masks and social distancing will be observed.

Graduates, however, still can participate in graduation virtually.

“As we heard from so many soon-to-be graduates and their families regarding their desire to have an in-person graduation experience … we took another look at the situation …,” UW President Ed Seidel said. (Read the full story here.)

Just last month, UW announced graduation ceremonies would be virtual due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
