The incident occurred on the same day Cody residents are encouraged to attend a presentation of the Big Horn Avenue Corridor Study draft plan.
A traffic accident involving two vehicles occurred around 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 23. Two vehicles collided at the intersection of Big Horn Avenue and Blackburn Street.
The Cody Police Department, Cody Fire Department, and an ambulance from Cody Regional Health were on the scene. The intersection was cleared quickly and traffic resumed, directed by officers.

The intersection of Big Horn and Blackburn is one of several intersections analyzed as part of the Big Horn Avenue Corridor Study.
The study, commissioned by the City of Cody, will present a plan for the future of Big Horn Avenue, including any new traffic signals and any other significant changes. Stantec Inc, the company doing the study, is presenting its draft plan during open houses at Cody City Hall Thursday evening.
Presentations will take place at 5:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.
There have been several crashes at the intersection of Big Horn Avenue and Blackburn Street, although none have been fatal. W.Y.D.O.T. is already planning to place a traffic signal there, but a timeline for construction and opening is currently unavailable.
However, the intersection is not the most problematic on Big Horn Avenue. According to Stantec’s report, more traffic incidents occur at the intersections of Cooper Lane W and Beacon Hill Road.
