It’s official: Tristan Blatt has signed on to play college baseball. The 3-Time Wyoming Legion “A” Baseball Player of the Year will be taking his talents to Raleigh, North Carolina, where he’ll be lacing up the cleats to play for Wake Technical Community College. The Eagles are a DII school that takes part in the NJCAA Region 10 West Division and are coached by Robert Dudley. Following Cody’s State Championship victory I caught up with Tristan who talked about the moment that decision was officially made.
“It was only like a few weeks ago. I texted them and said they had one more guy to fill and kind of jumped on it.”
The hard work has payed off. Prior to the 2021 Legion Baseball season, Tristan talked to me about the elation of coming back to play for the Cubs one last time and added he was looking to continue his career past this season.
“Yeah, it’s really exciting to get that chance. I’m really grateful and I’ve had great coaches to help me get to where I am now. So I’m really excited.”
Blatt will no doubt add a punch to an already formidable Wake Tech Lineup. Last year, the Eagles set a team record of 45 Home Runs in 37 Games. Tristan has hit 18 long balls in the 2021 campaign for Cody (leads Legion “A”).
Blatt has played 57 games for the Cubs in 2021. He has a Batting Average of .491, an On Base Percentage of .619, is Slugging a 1.047 and has an OPS of 1.665.
Blatt has 94 RBI’s on the season, has scored 89 runs, hit eight triples and 25 doubles.
Tristan and the Cody Cubs will be continuing play in Anchorage Alaska at the Northwest Regional Tournament this week and you can listen to all those games live on KODI. Cody gets Region Tourney play underway Friday at 9pm Mountain Time.
At last week’s State Tournament, Blatt delivered the hit of the season sending the Cubs into extras with a 3-Run Home Run vs. Cheyenne. Here’s that full game and Tristan ties things up at the 2 hour and 38 minute mark:
