About one-third of Park County has fully received the COVID-19 vaccine, county public health officials said Tuesday morning on KODI’s “Speak Your Piece with Darian Dudrick.”
Bill Crampton, nursing manager, and Dr. Aaron Billin, health officer, provided an update during the show.
“We’re close to 9,000 people that have been fully vaccinated at this point in time, which is a third of the county. And we’re seeing a lot of interest taper off,” Crampton said.
When might the public learn whether or not the COVID vaccine needs to be administered annually?
“By this fall, probably,” Billin said. “Because, keep in mind, we know that vaccine immunity – in two studies – is known to last at least six months.”
Billin and Crampton also talked to Dudrick about the safety of the Johnson & Johnson (Janssen) COVID vaccine and the face-mask mandate being lifted in Cody schools.
In addition, good and bad medical websites were discussed.
