Casper native Brooke Schmill is touring the Cowboy State with her new film, “Turning Point” which is about suicide and the effects it has on family and friends of those who take their lives. Brooke spent two months talking to a mayor, a coroner, a sheriff, local volunteers, suicide survivors and parents whose children took their own lives. Schmill lost her friend to suicide in 2006 right after she lost her mother to cancer. She spoke about loss, grief, healing and how making this film was cathartic for her personal journey. She hopes that her film will spread the word about suicide in Wyoming and start conversations about getting people in crisis the help they need.
