Shaffer, Luke Talich lead Cody Track at State

The Cody High School Track and Field teams were in Casper over the weekend taking part in the Class 4A State Track meet.

And what a day it was for Cody’s Grace Shaffer and Luke Talich. As reported on earlier this weekend Shaffer made history on Friday as she set a new State record in the Pole Vault with a Vault of 12 feet, 6.5 inches. In addition to the Pole Vault, Shaffer helped the Fillies 4×400 relay team to a 2nd place finish. She was also on the 1600 sprint medley relay team that finished 6th and the 4×100 relay team that took 7th.

On the other side of things, it was the Luke Talich show for the Cody Broncs. Talich would finish 2nd in the 100 meter dash with a time of 11.39 and 2nd in the Long Jump with a leap of 22 feet, 4.75 inches. Talich also took 3rd in the 200 with a time of 23.39. He was also a part of the 4×100 relay team that took 5th.

The Fillies would finish the 4A State meet taking 10th overall while the Broncs were 12th.
