The Park County School District 6 Regular School Board meeting took place on Tuesday night at 6PM in the Westside Annex, 2nd Floor Boardroom.
The meeting started with elementary students presenting gifts to the School Board members.
Cody Middle School Social Studies teacher Jenny Pehringer was presented with the Certified Employee of the Month Certificate. It was also announced that she would be leaving Cody Middle School at the end of the school year.
The Budget update was then presented, and Park County School District 6 had a balance of approximately $611,000 dollars at the end of January.
Superintendent Orndorff then presented the district goals and presented the Superintendent’s update. We will be interviewing Superintendent Orndorff on these subjects and more in an interview that will air on KODI Live and Local on 2/23/26.
Then the Park County District 6 School Board had several action items all of the action items: Approval of the Superintendent’s Contract; Policy GBGA-Staff Health-First Reading; Policy JC-School Attendance Areas-First Reading; Policy IMBB-Exemptions from Required Instruction-First Reading; Policy IHBG Home Based Educational Programs-First Reading; Policy JEA-Compulsory Attendance Age and Procedure For Withdrawal of a Minor-First Reading. All of these Action Items Carried Unanimously. The Approve Bus Lease Financing Action Item was also approved with 5 Aye Votes and 1 Exemption.
The Park County District 6 School Board then adjourned the Public Meeting and went into Executive Session.
