The Cody Broncs came into their contest Friday against Buffalo the Number 1 ranked team in Wyoming 3A football.
They found the answer and left no doubt.
The Broncs took the opening drive 69 yards in 10 plays in 2:01 and punched it off with a 1-yard power run from Grady McCarten to take an early 7-0 lead.
Cody’s Defense would force the Bison to punt their next 3 possessions on 3 straight plays each drive.
With under 2 minutes left in the 1st Quarter, the Broncs would start the drive from the 39-yard line and drive the distance in 11 plays with a 1-yard run from Quarterback Maddax Ball.
The Broncs would force Buffalo into another 3 and out.
Cody getting the ball on their own 36 the Broncs would drive 7 plays and score with a 20 yard Touchdown reception in the end zone from Chase Hatch to put the Broncs up 21-0.
Buffalo would go 3 and out over their next 2 possessions.
The Broncs would score with 55 seconds remaining in the 1st Half from a 29-yard touchdown run by Like Moulton putting Cody up 27-0.
The biggest play of the 1 half for Buffalo would be a 42-yard pass reception, the Bison would throw 3 incomplete passes to finish the half Cody ahead 27-0.
Cody held Buffalo to six 3 plays and a put of the Bison’s seven possessions in the 1st Half.
Much of the same would start the 2nd half as Cody held Buffalo to two 3 and outs.
The Broncs would score on their second possession of the 2nd Half with a 4-yard TD run from Maddax Ball, his second of the game, Cody going up 34-0.
Buffalo would score on their next possession with a 10-play drive 67-yard drive capped off by a 2-yard TD run by Quarterback Eli Patterson, Broncs lead 34-7.
With the game-ending interception by Dillion Brost Cody would bet a 34-7 win and move to 4-0 on the season with Conference play beginning this Friday against Jackson for Homecoming.
Of the 14 possessions for the Bison Cody forced ten 3 and outs and held Buffalo to 203 yards overall and 1 touchdown.
The Broncs had 373 total yards, 200 on the ground and 173 through the air.
