U.S. Senator Cynthia Lummis (R-WY) is announcing she will join the Delivering Outstanding Government Efficiency Caucus,(DOGE) chaired by U.S. Senator Joni Ernst (R-IA), to rein in the federal government’s wasteful spending and hold unelected bureaucrats accountable to the American people.
“For four years, the people of Wyoming have watched as the Biden-Harris administration has enabled unelected bureaucrats to become untouchable and unaccountable to the people they serve, but on January 20, 2025, that will come to a screeching halt,” said Lummis. “We have a responsibility to cut wasteful spending, restore transparency, eliminate fraud and abuse within the federal government and give power back to the American people. The DOGE Caucus will play an integral role in sniffing out government waste, and I look forward to partnering with my colleagues and President Trump to rein in Biden’s Big Government.
The newly-formed Department of Government Efficiency agency, made up by billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk, and former presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy, was tapped by President-elect Trump to evaluate and dismantle the $6.5 trillion bloated U.S. government.
Below are some ideas the new agency has come up with on how to deflate the bloat of the federal government:
The 22 ways to cut back spending
1. Fill or sell off vacant buildings wasting $8 billion per year
2. Audit the IRS and workers ‘who aren’t paying their own taxes’
3. Dismantle President Biden’s ‘billion dollar boondoggles’
4. Cancel California ‘gravy trains’ costing $1.8 million per day
5. Stop ‘Christmas in September’ end of year spending
6. Eradicate giving welfare for politicians ‘destined for failure’
7. Change the composition of coins to save money
8. Stop ‘bogus bonuses’ for bad federal workers
