The Cody Soccer teams were in Cheyenne over the weekend as they would take part in the Class 3A State Tournament.
The Fillies entered state going for their 4th title in 5 years and things were looking good early on. They defeated Torrington 8-1 in the first round on Thursday and knocked off Worland in the semi’s, on Friday, 4-0.
In the Championship the Fillies faced-off with Lander Valley, a team they had split with in the regular season, and it was not meant to be as the Lady Tigers would capture the 2-1 win in overtime. Filly Soccer finished the season 15-2-1, and earned 2nd place at the 3A State Tournament.
As for the Broncs, they would take on Torrington in the first round on Thursday and would fall by a final of 5-1. On Friday, they squared off against Riverton and would fall in overtime, 2-1, ending their season. The Broncs finish 2021 9-8 overall.
The Worland Warriors would capture the 3A State Title with a 1-0 shootout win over Powell.
