MADDY ICENOGLE & SIMONA WAMBEKE WON THEIR 2ND STRAIGHT #1 DOUBLES STATE CHAMPIONSHIP GOING UNDEFEATED AT 19-0 ON THE SEASON BUT THE CODY FILLIES TOOK THIRD PLACE AT THE STATE TENNIS TOURNAMENT OVER THE WEEKEND. CHEYENNE CENTRAL AND SHERIDAN TIED TO WIN THE STATE TITLE WITH 45 POINTS EACH FOLLOWED BY CODY IN THIRD PLACE WITH 42. THE FILLIES WON ALL 3 DOUBLES CHAMPIONSHIPS.
ON THE BOYS SIDE IT WAS POWELL WON STATE, THEIR FIRST CHAMPIONSHIP IN TEAM HISTORY, LED BY THEIR NUMBER 2 SINGLES PLAYER DYLAN PREATOR. CLAIMING THEIR FIRST EVER STATE CHAMPIONSHIP.
THE WYOMING COACHES ASSOCIATION HAS HONORED 46 PLAYERS FROM 10 SCHOOLS WITH ALL-STATE HONORS IN TENNIS FOR THE 2019 SEASON.
ALL-STATE HONORS FOR TENNIS ARE NOT VOTED ON. THEY ARE DETERMINED BASED UPON A PLAYERS’ FINISH AT THE STATE TOURNAMENT.
