Don’t be alarmed by the alarms that will be going off next Friday.
The City of Cody’s emergency sirens will be tested on Friday, November 15th at noon. There will be two test periods, for both the primary and secondary activation systems. This the final test of the system in 2019. Jack Tatum, Director of the Park County Homeland Security Office explains that this is a “town crier” – the most effective away to alert Cody residents of an emergency.
These tests ensure that the emergency alert system is working and ready in the event of a real catastrophe in town. But Tatum says they will also have other means of reaching out in a crisis. He recommends that all Cody residents subscribe to Code Red, a high speed emergency notification service. You can enroll here: https://public.coderedweb.com/CNE/en-US/5386BECCC188
