The Cody Cubs returned to action Wednesday night, following the 4th of July weekend, as they traveled over to Cowley for a double header with the Lovell Mustangs.
The Cubs came away with the sweep, winning game 1 by a final of 4-1 and got the 11-0 victory in game 2.

In game 1, Trey Thomasson took to the hill and tossed another gem, going the complete game while giving up 2 hits, 1 run and struck out 9 for his 5th win of the season.
Offensively, the Cubs got just enough. The Cubs got on the board early, leading 1-0 after 1 inning. That score held until the 6th when Dominic Phillips provided the firepower, bringing in 2 on a base hit up the middle. The Cubs added 1 more in the 7th to hold on for the game 1 win.
Trey Schroeder led the way with 3-hits in this one.
Not to be outdone in game 2, Trey Schroeder took to the hill for his 12th start of the season. Schroeder would pick up his 7th win of the season as he tossed a career high 13 strikeouts while giving up just 4 hits.
The bats came alive in the nightcap as the Cubs totaled 8 hits, 4 of which were for extra bases.
Thomasson and Wyatt Carlson each collected a pair, to lead the way.. Schroeder, Phillips and Jace Jarrett all had triples.
Cody scored 8 of the 11 runs in this one with 2 outs.
Following all the action the Cubs are now 26-16-1 on the season, 6-2 in conference play.
