The Cody Broncs have put themselves in a position to play for the number 1 seed from the Northwest Conference.
Friday night the Broncs host Kelly Walsh at Sweitzer Gymnasium.
The Broncs needed a win to keep them from the floor of the conference at the 4 seed.
Cody would respond and get a 46-38 win over the Trojans.
Junior Maddax Ball was the team’s leading scorer with 14, with 7 Broncs scoring.
The win secured the 3 seed for the Broncs.
Saturday Cody made the trip to Rock Springs.
The Broncs could put themselves at the 2 seed with a win over the Tigers.
Cody would control 3 of the 4 periods of basketball and would go into the final 8 minutes with a 14-point lead.
Rock Springs would rally with a bevy of 3-pointers and second-chance points to erase the 14-point lead in just under 6 minutes and would take a short lead over the Broncs.
The Broncs would hold and regain the lead and get key free throws that allowed Cody to get the win 46-44.
Juniors Chase Hatch and Maddax Ball both scored in double digits Hatch with 18 and Ball with 11.
Cody will have a chance to get the 1 seed this Friday against Riverton for the final regular season game.
It will also be Senior Night for the Broncs.
