Cody Bronc Track Takes 3rd at State, Fillies Finish 6th

The Cody Track teams were in Casper over the weekend taking part in the 2023 Class 4A State Track and Field Championship meet at Kelly Walsh High School.

The Broncs would conclude the season bringing home some hardware as they claimed 3rd place at State. The Fillies would perform admirably as they took 6th.

Let’s take a look at Cody’s top performers, starting with the Broncs:

Luke Talich would would come away a State Champion in three separte events, winning the 100, 200 and Long Jump.

Talich would be named best of the best for those 1st place finishes.

Dillon Brost took 3rd in the 100.

Charlie Hulbert was 3rd in both the 800 and 1600.

Graidin Arnold was 4th in the 300 Hurdles.

The Sprint Medley Relay team came in 2nd.

Robby Porter won the High Jump at 6 feet, 8 inches which ties a CHS school record. Porter was also named State Champ best of the best.

As for the Fillies:

The 4×800 Relay Team of Kylie Silva, Ava Stafford, Taylen Stinson and Ada Nelson set a New Class 4A Record and Overall State Record with a time of 9:26.48. They broke Central’s 2018 record of 9:29.58.

The Sprint Medley Relay team of Isabelle Paddock, Alessandra Broussard, Taylen Stinson and Ada Nelson would also take 1st place.

Ada Nelson would also take 2nd in both the 800 and 1600.

Taylen Stinson was 3rd in the 1600.

Laura Phillips would finish 2nd in the Discus.

In some other area track news:

Both the Powell boys and girls track teams would bring home the Class 3A State Titles. (I’ll have more on this later).

And the Burlington boys won the 1A State Title.
