Child Riding A Bicycle Is Struck By A Car On E. Sheridan Avenue

Blackburn Ave

A boy on his bicycle was struck by a car near Cody Middle School.

The accident was on East Sheridan and Blackburn Avenues.

Amber Golly-Simonson told Cowboy State Daily that she stopped to help almost immediately after the accident happened.

“No police or ambulance had arrived yet,” said Golly-Simonson. “My husband parked in the middle of the road to try to stop traffic, but people just kept driving through. The child appeared to be a middle schooler.”

Cody Police Department confirmed that the victim was “a Cody Middle School male riding a bicycle.”

Golly-Simonson said that she didn’t know how severe the boy’s injuries were, but someone was “kneeling above him, holding his head still in case he had a neck injury. The child was taken by ambulance, and the police stayed to talk to the driver.”

The accident is under investigation and there has been no information given by the hospital on the condition of the boy.

But a social media post by a woman who says she’s the boy’s mother reads, “Kiddo is banged up but thank goodness for all the attentive people involved and the great crew at CRH (Cody Regional Health) including the great ems (sic)!
