PICKING THINGS UP ON SATURDAY WHERE BOTH TEAMS WERE MATCHED UP WITH RIVERtON, ONE OF FOUR TEAMS IN THE 4A NORTHWEST QUADRANT.
COY NOVAKOVICH KNOCKED IN THREE, 3-POINTERS IN THE FIRST QUARTER, CODY’S DEFENSE HELD THE WOLVERINES TO JUST 13 POINTS IN THE FIRST HALF AND THE BRONCS PICKED UP THEIR FIRST QUADRANT WIN SATURDAY 57-41 VS. RIVERTON.
COY NOVAKOVICH GOT THINGS GOING EARLY SCORING 11 OF HIS GAME HIGH 17 POINTS IN THE FIRST QUARTER TO LEAD THE BRONCS TO AN EARLY FIRST QUARTER ADVANTAGE 15-11. IN THE SECOND QUARTER THE BRONCS DEFENSE BUCKLED DOWN HOLDING THE WOLVERINES TO JUST FOUR POINTS AND LED AT THE HALF 26-13.
THE BRONCS WOULD MATCH THAT ENERGY IN THE THIRD QUARTER AND RAN AWAY WITH THE WIN SATURDAY AFTERNOON.
LEADING THE WAY FOR THE BRONCS WAS COY NOVAKOVICH WITH 17 POINTS, HUNTER HAYS HAD 14 AND LUKE TALICH ADDED 8.
WITH THE WIN CODY IMPROVES TO 3-6 ON THE SEASON, 1-0 IN LEAGUE PLAY.
AS FOR THE CODY FILLIES ON SATURDAY, THE RIVERTON LADY WOLVERINES PROVED TO BE TO MUCH, HOLDING THE FILLIES TO A SEASON LOW 28 POINTS AND HANDED CODY THEIR 2ND STRAIGHT LOSS.
IT WAS A LOW SCORING GAME FROM THE START AS THE LADY WOLVERINES LED AT THE HALF 15-10. IT WAS THE THIRD QUARTER WHERE RIVERTON BEGAN TO SEPARATE THEMSELVES AND LED BY DOUBLE DIGITS INTO, THE FOURTH. THE FILLIES ATTEMPTED TO RALLY LATE IN THE GAME CUTTING THE DEFICIT TO JUST SIX POINTS BUT COULDN’T OVERCOME RIVERTON’S OUTSIDE SHOOTING IN THE LOSS.
LEADING THE WAY FOR THE FILLIES WAS TORRIE SCHUTZMAN WITH 9 POINTS, KENNEDI NIEMANN ADDED 7.

BOTH CODY BASKETBALL TEAMS WOULD FALL AT THE HANDS OF NATRONA COUNTY BY THE SCORE OF 55-41.
