After the first loss of the season to Star Valley the week before the Broncs would take the 6-hour drive to Evanston to take on the Red Devils.
The Broncs left Cody around 7 a.m. Friday and would stop in Lander for a walk-thru Friday afternoon before reloading the bus and continuing to Evanston.
Cody was 6-1 overall coming into the game Friday Evanston was 3-4.
After an early turnover by the Broncs Evanston would take an 8-play drive and score a 37-yard field goal, taking a 3-0 first-quarter lead.
Cody would answer with a 7-play 52-yard drive that ended with a 30-yard touchdown from Maddax Ball to Chase Hatch to put the Broncs up 7-3.
After trading the next 3 possessions, Evanston would go on an 11-play drive ending with their second 37-yard field goal closing the score to 7-6 midway through the 2nd quarter.
The Broncs would put another touchdown on the board in 3 plays that included a 60-yard run by Grady McCarten and a 21-yard touchdown pass from Maddax to Jacob Ball in the corner, the Broncs would take a 14-6 lead into the half.
Evanston would have the ball to start the second half, but the Broncs would force a fumble.
Cody would march 51 yards in 6 plays that included a 28-yard reception by Hatch and was punctuated by a 3-yard touchdown run from McCarten.
After a Red Devil 3 and out Cody would take a 3-play drive and score from a Maddax 10-yard pass to Luke Moulton to put the Broncs up 27-6.
On the Broncs’ next series, McCarten would start with a 39-yard run that Maddux would finish with a 12-yard TD run 1 play later the Broncs up 34-6 with just over 3 minutes remaining in the 3rd quarter.
To start the 4th quarter Jacob Ball would score his 2nd touchdown on a 12-yard touchdown run and put the Broncs up 41-6.
Evanston would score their first touchdown of the game with a 14-yard completion to Kai Barker.
In the last minutes of the game, the Red Devils were on a scoring drive at the 1-yard line with seconds left.
Evanston would fumble on the goal line and Luke Moulton would return the fumble 99 yards for a touchdown.
Broncs with the win 48-13.
Evanston had 119 yards rushing on 38 carries and 2 fumbles, and 192 yards passing on 36 attempts with 2 interceptions and 1 touchdown.
Cody had 214 yards rushing on 31 attempts with 3 touchdowns, and 201 yards passing on 22 attempts with 3 touchdowns and 2 interceptions.
Maddax Ball went 13 for 21 with 197 yards 3 touchdowns and 2 interceptions.
Grady McCarten had 10 carries for 136 yards and a touchdown.
Chase Hatch had 3 receptions for 66 yards and a touchdown, he also led the team defensively with 10 tackles, 5 of those solo, .5 tackle for loss, .5 sack, 1 forced fumble, and an interception.
Jacob Ball had 1 carry for 12 yards and a touchdown to go along with 2 catches for 22 yards and a touchdown.
