Broncs Get Home Opener Win Over Riverton

The Cody Broncs win 47-24 over the Riverton Wolverines Friday at Spike Vannoy Stadium.

Cody would score on the very first play of the game in an opening kickoff 100 yard touchdown return by Sophomore Boston Cronbaugh.

Cornerback Senior Jarom Beardall would pick off the first play from scrimmage for the Riverton Wolverines for a 38-yard touchdown return for the Broncs.

Besides the 2 scores from Cronbaugh and Beardall 5 other Broncs would score.

Chase Hatch on a 25-yard TD catch, Owen Petersen on a 3 yard TD run, Grady McCarten on a 26-yard interception return, Maddax Ball on a 7-yard TD run, and Sophomore Cashe McFadden on a TD run.

Cody ran 20 times for 153 yards and 3 touchdowns.

Maddax Ball went 14 for 13 with 198 yards passing with 1 touchdown without an interception.

Chase Hatch leads the wide receivers with 5 catches for 88 yards and a touchdown.

The Broncs had 353 yards receiving and rushing along with 177 yards on special teams for 530 yards.

On defense, McCarten had 4 assisted tackles, 5 unassisted tackles, 1 tackle for loss, and an interception return for a touchdown for a team-high 20 points.

Trey Smith had 6 assisted tackles, 4 unassisted tackles, and a pass block for a total of 16 defensive points.
